CSR Program with Department of Environment Pulau Pinang

15 MAY 2023, GOPENG –  In conjunction with the World Environment Day 2023, MM Century organized an exciting and meaningful CSR trip to Gua Tempurung, Perak, in collaboration with the Department of Environment Penang. This remarkable expedition aimed to raise participants’ awareness about the crucial importance of protecting and preserving our environment, while also providing them with a unique opportunity to explore the breathtaking geological wonders of Gua Tempurung.

The program kicked off with great enthusiasm as a group of 40 participants gathered, eager to embark on this unforgettable adventure. Among the participants were members of the Resident Naval Officer Penang – TLDM Penang, the esteemed environmental organization, Rakan Alam Sekitar Pulau Pinang, and students from various public institutions. This diverse group of individuals brought together a wealth of knowledge and experiences, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and collaboration throughout the trip.

As the sun rose over the rugged landscape of Gua Tempurung, the participants were filled with anticipation, ready to delve into the depths of this magnificent cave system. The Level 4 exploration was chosen, which promised an exhilarating journey filled with challenges and discoveries. It entailed crawling through narrow gaps barely half a meter high, sliding down steep slopes on their bumps, and even disappearing into seemingly bottomless holes. The sheer adrenaline rush combined with the awe-inspiring surroundings created an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

For a remarkable duration of nearly five hours, the participants ventured deeper into the mysterious labyrinth of Gua Tempurung, covering an impressive distance of 1.9 kilometers within the cave. Along the way, they marveled at the stunning geological formations that adorned the cave walls, as if nature itself had painted an intricate masterpiece. The resounding echoes of their footsteps served as a constant reminder of the cave’s ancient history, reminding each individual of the significance of preserving such natural wonders for future generations.

As the participants bid farewell to Gua Tempurung, they carried with them cherished memories, newfound knowledge, and a renewed sense of purpose.
