MM Century Hosts Inspiring and Heartwarming Celebration for Earth, Environment and World Occupational Safety and Health Day 2024

SIMPANG AMPAT, 24 May 2024 – MM Century Sdn Bhd (MM Century), a leading environmental solutions provider specialising in sustainable waste management, hosted an inspiring and heartwarming celebration for Earth Day, Environment Day, and World Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Day at their headquarters in Penang Science Park North.

The event brought together distinguished guests, enthusiastic employees, eager school children, and dedicated government officials, marking a significant milestone in the company’s unwavering commitment to environmental conservation and workplace safety.

Mr. Ashok Kumar Rangayah, Executive Director of MM Century, expressed his delight in celebrating the company’s first Earth, Environmental, and OSH Day at its new headquarters in PSPN. With genuine passion, he emphasised the importance of environmental conservation and safety, urging everyone to take proactive steps towards a greener and safer planet. “Let us join hands to protect our Earth. YB Dato Seri Sundarajoo Somu, Exco of Housing and Environment, Pulau Pinang, highlighted the interconnectedness of environmental sustainability and workplace safety in his inspiring speech. He said, “Earth Day reminds us of our duty to protect our planet from the adverse effects of climate change and environmental degradation. Pulau Pinang has taken a monumental step by pledging to plant 1.2 million trees. Trees play a vital role in sequestering carbon dioxide, preserving biodiversity, and enhancing our quality of life. This initiative, championed by the Tuan Yang Terutama (TYT), reflects our commitment to combat climate change and restore our natural environment.”

YB Dato Seri Sundarajoo also commended MM Century’s initiatives and encouraged the community to adopt sustainable practices and prioritise the safety and health of workers.

Engaging Activities and Educational Sessions with Students

One of the key highlights of the event was the introduction to 3R activities with students. The students eagerly participated in educational sessions focused on the vital principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R). Another significant part of the event was the blood donation campaign organised in collaboration with Taiping Hospital.
